🌿 Spring Creek Commons

Editorial Guidelines & Partnership Policy

Spring Creek Commons is a community-rooted publication created by the people, for the people
focused on meaningful stories, local culture, thoughtful discussion, and timeless values.

We believe in the power of words to build, not divide. Below are the guiding principles that shape our work and any partnerships we form.

✍️ Contributor Guidelines

All contributors (writers, photographers, illustrators, etc.) agree to the following:

  • All roles are volunteer-based. Contributors receive credit and a complimentary copy of the issue(s) they’re featured in.
  • Submissions must be original and not previously published unless explicitly noted and approved.
  • Content must be respectful, avoiding vulgarity, personal attacks, or divisive rhetoric.
  • Spring Creek Commons reserves the right to accept, edit, or reject any submission for any reason.
  • Articles may not be promotional in nature. Mentions of businesses or products must serve a broader community purpose.
  • Contributors retain ownership of their work but grant Spring Creek Commons non-exclusive publishing rights (print and digital).

🤝 Supporter & Sponsorship Rules

We welcome support from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. There are two ways to contribute financially:

1. Community Supporters (No Column)

  • Provide financial support only.
  • No editorial input or influence.
  • May be listed on our “Supporters” page or in print (optional).

2. Standing Column Sponsors

  • Provide a recurring contribution to maintain a column in each issue.
  • All submitted content is subject to editorial approval.
  • Column content must align with our community mission and values.
  • Sponsors have no authority over other content or publication practices.
  • Columns must be educational, informative, or reflective — not promotional.

Spring Creek Commons retains full editorial independence. Sponsorship does not equal influence.

🚫 What We Don’t Publish

  • Political endorsements or attacks
  • Sensationalism or clickbait
  • Hate speech or inflammatory content
